Artifact: Weebly Blog Posts
Reflection:
The Weebly blogs were written throughout ITEC 7430 and at the end of each course. These posts required me to evaluate what I learned and how it impacted me as a teacher. Each post includes different dispositions that I have developed at my time at Kennesaw State University.
The Weebly blog demonstrates my ability to regularly evaluate and reflect on my professional practice and dispositions, which have changed throughout the program. It is interesting to look back and see the growth I have undergone since beginning the program in Spring 2015. These reflections have forced me to reconcile how I will use the knowledge I have obtained in each course in the future. When I look back at these, I am reminded of the new tools and strategies I have acquired. I most frequently have referred back to the blog post I wrote on Digital Equity, which includes many sites that are helpful to teachers.
It is great to have resources at your fingertips, so the blog has been a great housing site for resources. I have also enjoyed it because it is easy to share with colleagues. It has also bled into my classroom practices and given me more insight on what I implementing professionally.
If reflection is done properly, it can change the entire culture of a school. From administrators to students and everyone in between, reflection is beneficial to everyone involved. Once a culture of reflection is created, school improvement and student responsibility will increase.
